EPop Artist VS Band Unwind: Pussycat Dolls VS Backstreet Boys

Spotlight Song: Happily Never After

Nope. We're not talking about the Movie Show "Happily Never After" but song "Happily Never After" by both the Pussycat Dolls and Backstreet Boys. The track was co-written by Ne-Yo for the Pussycat Dolls. I'm not sure how Backstreet Boys got the song but the point of this post is a comparison of both attempts at the song.

I heard this song first time on a good friend's phone. It was the Backstreet Boys version and I feel in love with it almost immediately. I didn't know there was 2 versions though.

Happily Never After (Pussycat Dolls Version)

[7/10]

I don't know whose the one singing but I guess Nicole Scherzinger cos she's the only with a good voice in Pussycat Dolls. Her vocals aren't that good compared to Backstreet Boys when it comes to this song. And the part when the other dolls come into the song, acting extra with their voices, I think the songs kinda downgrades? But Nicole's voice is suited for this song on love and everything and you actually feel that the song tells a story.

Happily Never After (Backstreet Boys)

I grew up listening to Backstreet Boys and without a doubt, their vocals are still good after so many years. At least their songs they come up with are decent unlike "New Kids On The Block" who tries a kinky version of "Summertime" music video. Anyway, the background singing by the other members are so much better compared to "Pussycat Dolls" as it complements whoever is singing.

You get mixed voices of different members for different parts of the song and it sounds like a fresh verse.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I think Backstreet Boys wins for their version of the song cos it sounds mature and sleek to the ears. But I hope those who wanna listen to the song, get both versions into your MP3 or IPOD or PHONE cos it speaks a really cool story.
